With minimal dimensions of 32 x 24 x 2.1 mm, the SD card (Secure Digital Card) also has a content protection function (“copyright protection”  ...especially important for the storage/circulation of audio and video files). There is a high degree of “affinity” to the MultiMediaCard (additionally “content protection“ and a greater volume for more memory capacity (additionally 2 pins and 0.7 mm “thicker”). Most applications have a DualSlot that allows the use of both memory card types.  Unintentional overwriting/deletion can be prevented by means of a write protection switch.
